The New Chadstone Complex - with its iconic "Australian-first" 7000 square metre glass gridshell roof. 643 high powered Viento RGBW linear LED luminaires placed end to end, provide a wash of light that flows around the structure. The colour selectable Viento enables scenes to be created using colour mixing, video or artistic imagery. With +30,000 Cree LEDs, our Quick Connect cable system and the supply and programming of a complete DMX control system, Megabay are proud to have been selected for such an iconic architectural project.
Jadecross and the Megabay Viento were chosen to light up the huge multi-coloured façade. The design had it’s challenges with so many different colours, depths, width’s and height’s over a large area but the pictures are proof that this Australian made, award winning LED Linear luminaire was right for the job.
The refurbishment of the Best Brew Bar in the Sheraton 4 Point lobby was conceptualised to mimic and coordinate with the coloured lighting effects used at the Perth Arena, directly opposite the venue. The floating organic shapes are internally illuminated with RGBW control separately controlled via DMX. Megabay also manufactured custom RGBW LED modules to provide extra lighting around the columns for a continuous effect.
The construction of a residential development above Footscray Plaza has finally concluded with the installation of a 240-square-metre screen that lights up with a colourful spectacle at night. The screen titled ‘Centricity’, is Victoria’s largest LED-programmed steel sculpture designed by Melbourne artist Matthew Harding and symbolises Footscray’s diversity.
The Haron Robson designed Liverpool Catholic Club car park was recognised by the IES NSW Chapter for an award of commendation, with the judges commenting “Innovative solution to an otherwise bland concrete above ground carpark, a solution not just based on complying to standards but with an artistic touch”.
The Merrywell forms part of the newly refurbished and extended entertainment precinct at Crown Perth. Large asymmetrical archways sweep around the curved façade with timber cladding forming a warm and textured envelope to both the courtyard oasis outside as well as the variety of dining and lounge spaces within. The Accento A8 was selected to illuminate the garden areas which snakes its way around the outside of the building, akin to an urban laneway in parts and opening to a lush landscape.
The heritage listed State Library of Victoria, an Australian iconic building with classical architecture comes alive with dynamic and vibrant LED illumination. A beautiful display of coloured illumination from warm whites to vibrant hues glow spectacularly, highlighting the striking architecture.
Virgin Australia wanted lighting to illumination their striking "cubist" terminal building in the companies iconic " purple" corporate colour. The Viento proved to be the perfect solution, with a narrow beam providing a beautiful and strong graduation wash of colour down the vertical face. The RGBW LED colour mixing capabilities of the Viento allows it to pinpoint and hold a particular hue.
